SIRIUS direct starter with integrated I/O
The Siemens 3RK1395-6LS41-2AD5 is a SIRIUS direct motor starter rated 12 A at 400 V AC, delivering 5.5 kW at 400 V. It's a self-contained unit with 4 digital inputs and 2 digital outputs, designed for standalone motor control without a separate PLC I/O slice. The IP65 enclosure means it mounts directly on the machine frame or in a washdown zone — no need for an extra cabinet if the environment allows.
Trip class flexibility and supply voltage
Trip class is selectable among CLASS 5, 10, 15, and 20, so you match the thermal overload curve to the motor's starting profile — short acceleration (class 5) or high-inertia loads (class 20). The control supply is 24 V DC nominal (20.4 to 28.8 V range), which is standard for modern control panels. ON-delay is 85 ms, OFF-delay 65 ms, giving predictable sequencing for interlocked starts.
Mounting and environmental ratings
Mounts via screw fixing in vertical, horizontal, or flat orientation — the manufacturer recommends horizontal for best thermal performance. Dimensions are 294 mm wide, 215 mm high, 148 mm deep. Operating temperature range is -25 to +55 °C, storage -40 to +70 °C. Vibration resistance is 7 mm / 2g, shock 12g / 11 ms, so it holds up on a conveyor frame or pump skid. IP65 means hose-down cleaning is fine.
Power connection and I/O wiring
Main power circuit connects via a HAN Q4/2 plug per ISO 23570 — a standard industrial connector that simplifies panel wiring and field replacement. The 4 digital inputs and 2 digital outputs are on-board, so you can wire start/stop, feedback, and status directly without an expansion module. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional condensation.
