AS-Interface I/O Module — 4 Inputs, 4 Outputs, No Extra Power Supply Needed
The Siemens 3RK1400-0CE00-0AA3 is an AS-Interface slave module packing 4 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs in a flat, IP20 housing. It runs on the AS-Interface protocol and draws its power directly from the AS-Interface cable — no external 24 V DC supply needed for the inputs or outputs. That simplifies wiring in a panel: one AS-Interface cable carries both data and power to the module. Inputs are PNP transistor type, switching at a High level of at least 10 V, with a minimum signal current of 5 mA and a maximum off-state current of 1.5 mA. Outputs are solid-state, short-circuit proof, and the module includes built-in watchdog, short-circuit protection, and induction protection. The total current available for all inputs and outputs is 200 mA, drawn from the AS-Interface cable's 270 mA maximum input current.
Mounting and Addressing
The module uses integrated lugs for screw fixing — no DIN-rail clip, so plan for direct panel or backplate mounting. Dimensions are 18.5 mm wide, 81.5 mm high, and 79.8 mm deep, fitting into a compact footprint. Addressing is handled through an integrated addressing socket, and the ID/ID2 code is set to F/F. The I/O configuration is 7, matching the standard slave design.
