The Siemens 3RK1400-1CE01-0GE2 is an AS-Interface compact module — IP20-rated, 45 mm wide, with screw terminals. It gives you 4 digital inputs (200 mA per channel, PNP, 2/3-wire) and 4 digital outputs (2 A per channel, PNP) on 24 V DC. That input current rating means it can handle standard 3-wire sensors without an external amplifier; the 2 A outputs drive small contactors, indicator banks, or solenoid valves directly off the AS-i bus.
Integration notes
Mounts on standard DIN rail. The 45 mm width fits neatly into a crowded panel — about the same footprint as a single 4-pole miniature circuit breaker. Screw terminals accept 0.2–2.5 mm² conductors; strip length around 8 mm for a solid connection. The AS-Interface bus powers the module and carries the I/O data, so no separate control power wiring beyond the bus cable.
