The Siemens 3RK1400-1CR00-0AA3 is a K60 compact digital I/O module rated for 4 inputs and 4 outputs, designed for field-mounting in washdown or outdoor zones where IP68/IP69K protection is required. It operates on a 20 to 30 V DC supply and uses PNP transistor inputs, with a built-in watchdog and short-circuit protection on the outputs.
Mounting and Integration
The module snaps onto standard DIN rail or mounts to a wall using the K60 mounting plate (supplied separately). Dimensions are 60 mm wide, 152 mm high, and 29 mm deep — fits a standard panel footprint. Each of the eight M12 sockets carries a dedicated pinout: PIN 1 supplies sensor L+, PIN 3 is sensor L-, and PIN 5 is the ground terminal tied to the mounting plate via a grounding wrist strap. PIN 2 and PIN 4 carry data input or output signals depending on the socket.
Power and Wiring Note
An external auxiliary supply (AUX POWER) of 20 to 30 V DC is required for the output circuits, and it must comply with VDE 0106 (PELV), protection class III. The module draws a minimum signal current of 6 mA for a logic 1 and a maximum of 1.5 mA for a logic 0.
