What the AS-Interface designation means in the field
AS-Interface is a two-wire, flat-cable bus that carries both data and 24 VDC power to field devices — limit switches, proximity sensors, valve manifolds, light curtains. One cable replaces a bundle of point-to-point runs. The 3RK1400-1MG01-0WB1 sits on that bus as a module; it's the node that talks back to the AS-i master (usually a gateway to PROFIBUS or PROFINET). Deployment is inside a control cabinet or a junction box near the machine, typically snapped onto a DIN rail.
