AS-Interface I/O module for the control cabinet
The Siemens 3RK1402-0BG00-0AA2 is an AS-Interface standard slave module in the SlimLine S22.5 design, sized for control-cabinet mounting on 35 mm standard rail or wall mounting using push-in lugs. It provides 2 digital inputs (PNP transistor circuit, 20-30 VDC supply) and 2 digital outputs via relay changeover contacts, floating. The module is addressed through a front addressing socket; ID/ID2 code is 0/F. A built-in watchdog monitors communication, and the AS-Interface green LED confirms bus health. Input voltage range is 20-30 VDC.
The 2 inputs are PNP only — ensure your sensors source positive to the module; NPN sensors need an interface. The relay outputs are changeover floating contacts rated 1 A at 24 V, 0.2 A at 110 V, and 0.1 A at 230 V, so they suit signal-level switching or low-power loads, not motor contactor coils directly. The module requires an external 6 A gL/gG backup fuse for short-circuit protection. With IP20 protection, it belongs inside an enclosure, not on the machine frame.
Wiring uses 2-wire technology with spring-loaded terminals accepting 2 x (0.25-1.5) mm² solid or 2 x (0.25-1) mm² with end sleeve; AWG 24-16 stranded. A detachment tool is listed as an accessory. Status indication: yellow LEDs for I/O states, red LED for fault, green for AS-Interface bus.
