The Siemens 3RK1402-3KG02-0AA1 is an AS-Interface load feeder module with 2 digital inputs and 1 relay output, designed for standard rail mounting in control panels. It accepts 26.5 to 31.6 V DC input voltage and draws 8 to 12 mA from the AS-i bus. The relay output is rated 3 A in AC-15 duty (inductive loads at 230 V AC) and 0.1 A in DC-13 at 220 V DC — a wide gap that matters: the DC rating drops sharply with voltage, so don't assume the AC figure carries over to a DC solenoid or brake coil.
Mounts on standard rail (DIN rail) and occupies 45 mm of panel width. The IP20 rating means it's for inside an enclosure only — no washdown, no dust. Connections use insulation displacement terminals for the AS-i and auxiliary power (0.5 to 0.75 mm² flexible) and spring-loaded terminals for the I/O wiring (0.8 to 2.5 mm² flexible without end sleeves). The power connector accepts 0.5 to 2.5 mm² (AWG 28 to 12). Keep the cable length between the module and each input under 0.4 m to avoid voltage drop on the 6 mA input signal.
The module has a built-in watchdog and retains its last address after the 15th addressing procedure — a useful detail if you're swapping a failed unit on a live AS-i network: it won't lose the node address mid-cycle. The status display shows AS-i communication status and whether the station address is zero (unaddressed). No short-circuit protection on the outputs, and no polarity reversal protection is required — the AS-i bus handles that.
