ASIsafe module for safety circuits on AS-Interface
The Siemens 3RK1405-0BG00-0AA2 is an ASIsafe SlimLine module in the S22.5F format — 22.5 mm wide, 91 mm deep, 103.4 mm high — designed to bring two safe digital inputs and two standard solid-state outputs onto an AS-Interface bus without a separate safety controller. The two safe inputs accept mechanical switching contacts (e.g. emergency-stop pushbuttons, guard-door switches) and report their state via yellow LEDs; the two standard outputs are short-circuit-proof and powered directly from the AS-Interface bus voltage (26.5–31.5 V DC).
Mounting, wiring, and environmental limits
The module snaps onto a standard DIN rail or mounts to a panel wall; all I/O connections use spring-loaded terminals, so no screwdriver torque is needed for wiring. Rated IP20, it is intended for inside a control cabinet. Operating temperature range is -25 to +70 °C; storage range is -40 to +85 °C.
Built-in protection and diagnostics
The module includes a built-in watchdog, induction protection on the inputs, and short-circuit protection on the outputs — no external fusing or suppression diodes are needed for the standard outputs. Diagnostics are visible locally: a green/red LED shows AS-Interface communication and module status, and yellow LEDs indicate each input/output state.
