ASIsafe SlimLine S45F — Phase-Out Notice and Sourcing Reality
The Siemens 3RK1405-1SE15-0AA2 is an ASIsafe SlimLine module in the S45F form factor, providing one safe relay output (2-channel), two standard digital inputs, and two standard digital outputs. It operates on 24 V DC with screw-terminal connections and draws up to 200 mA from the AS-interface bus. The module is IP20-rated, mounts on a standard 35 mm DIN rail or directly to a wall, and measures 45 mm wide by 105.9 mm tall by 120 mm deep.
The 2 digital inputs draw a minimum of 5 mA at signal <1>, which is typical for AS-Interface standard inputs and compatible with most 3-wire sensors. The 2 digital outputs are short-circuit-proof and require an external 24 V DC supply via the AUX POWER pins — they do not draw load current from the AS-Interface bus. The single safe output is a relay with 2-channel structure, meaning two independently controlled contacts must agree to switch the load; this meets the redundancy requirement for SIL 3 / PL e applications when the external wiring and logic match. The built-in watchdog, induction protection, and short-circuit protection reduce the need for external fusing or suppression on the module side. Addressing is done via the front addressing socket. The yellow LEDs indicate I/O status, the green LED shows AUX power presence, and the combined green/red LED reports AS-Interface communication and diagnostics. A steady green on the bus LED means the module is communicating; a flashing red points to a configuration mismatch or a missing slave.
Deployment Context
This module is designed for safety-related applications on an AS-Interface safety network. The screw terminals accept standard ferrule-ended control wiring, and the front addressing socket means the module address can be set without removing the wiring.
