Dual AS-i Address — The Integration Constraint
The 3RK1408-8SQ00-0AA3: This module occupies two addresses on the AS-i network — one for the four inputs and one for the four virtual outputs. That means the master must have two free slots in its address table, and the module's I/O configuration code is 7. The 4 inputs are PNP transistor type, and the 4 outputs are virtual — they exist as AS-i data points without physical relay or transistor drivers on the module. Yellow LEDs show I/O status; a green/red LED indicates AS-i communication and diagnostics.
IP67 Machine-Mount Deployment
Rated IP67, this K60 compact module mounts directly on machine frames via standard rail or wall mounting using the separately ordered mounting plate 3RK1901-0CA00. The 60 mm width and 29 mm depth fit tight panel layouts. Operating temperature range is -25 to +85 °C, with storage from -40 to +85 °C. Shock resistance is 15 g for 11 ms — suitable for vibrating conveyor or packaging machinery.
Bus-Powered, No External Supply Needed
The module draws its operating power entirely from the AS-i bus cable — 70 mA max at 26.5-31.6 V per the AS-i specification. No external 24 V DC supply is required for the outputs, which simplifies the wiring harness to a single AS-i flat cable. All eight sockets on the module are closed (not assigned), and a watchdog is not required. The front addressing socket allows ID/ID2 code setting to F/F.
