Field-mount coupling module for AS-Interface
The Siemens 3RK1901-1JA00 is an AS-Interface FK-E coupling module designed for field-mounting digital I/O modules with IP67 ingress protection. It connects one yellow AS-i cable (power/data) and one black AS-i cable (auxiliary power) via insulation-piercing contacts, eliminating the need to strip the flat cable. The operating voltage range per the AS-Interface specification is 26.5 to 31.6 V. The housing integrates stainless steel threaded sockets and Viton seals — the scope of supply includes one coupling module, four shaped seals (Viton), and three end seals (Viton). This material selection resists corrosion and chemical attack in washdown or aggressive environments, making the module suitable for food-and-beverage, chemical processing, or outdoor conveyor lines where standard nickel-plated brass fittings would degrade.
Mounting and environmental ratings
The module mounts to a wall or standard rail (DIN rail) and is rated IP67, meaning the enclosure and the seal system protect against dust ingress and temporary immersion. The ambient temperature range spans -25 to +85 °C, covering both cold storage and hot cabinet environments. The contact load rating is 2 A maximum.
