PROFIsafe power module for fail-safe motor starters
The Siemens 3RK1903-3BA02 is a PM-D F PROFISAFE power module designed for fail-safe motor starter applications, providing PROFIsafe communication for PROFIBUS or PROFINET networks. It plugs onto the TM-PF30 S47-F1 base for an F-frequency converter, delivering power and safety shutdown to six groups. Rated SIL CL 3 per IEC 61508 and Category 4 per EN ISO 13849-1, with a safe failure fraction of 99 % and average diagnostic coverage of 99 %, it meets the highest integrity levels for guarding and hazard-zone safety circuits.
Supply and safe state
Control supply voltage is 20.4 to 28.8 V DC, so it runs on a standard 24 V DC panel supply with tolerance for brownout. The safe state is load circuit open — when the safety function is triggered, the module opens the load path to the connected motor starters. No short-circuit protection is built in; upstream fusing or a circuit breaker is required per the branch circuit.
Physical fit and compliance
Width is 30 mm, height 196.5 mm, depth 117.5 mm. It mounts on a DIN rail via the TM-PF30 base, so it occupies a standard 30 mm slot in the panel. The substance prohibitance date of 05/01/2012 indicates RoHS compliance from that date forward.
