The Siemens 3RK2200-0CG00-2AA2 is a Slimline Compact I/O module for control cabinet use, designed as an AS-i SC17.5 slave with 4 digital inputs (PNP Type 2) and no outputs. Communication runs over the AS-Interface protocol, with the slave profile set to S-0.A.0. The module is an A/B slave type, addressable via the front addressing socket; the ID1 code ships at factory setting 7 but is changeable in the field.
The four digital inputs are PNP Type 2 per EN 61131-2, which means they sink current from a positive sensor supply — standard for most 3-wire proximity and photoelectric sensors in European panels. The sensor supply is short-circuit and overload resistant, rated for 200 mA total at 40 °C ambient, so you can power a handful of small sensors directly without an external distribution block. Operating voltage comes from the AS-Interface bus itself, spanning 18 to 31.6 V per the AS-Interface specification. The module also supports AS-i Power24V, drawing up to 270 mA at 24 V — useful if your network already uses that power supply variant. The AS-Interface bus supplies up to 2 A total for the module's needs. Spring-loaded terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 1.5 mm² (20–16 AWG), and finely stranded wire with ferrule from 0.25 to 1.0 mm². The 2-wire connection technology keeps field wiring simple — just two wires per input, no separate supply pair needed. Rated IP20, so this module belongs inside a sealed control cabinet — not on the machine frame or in washdown zones. Shock resistance is 15g / 11 ms for the module alone, or 10g / 11 ms with the device connector attached.
