Field-deployed input slice for distributed I/O
The 3RK2200-0CQ00-0AA3 is a 4-input digital input module from Siemens' K60 compact family, designed for direct field mounting without an enclosure. Its IP67 rating means the module body and M12 sockets withstand washdown, dust, and coolant spray — suitable for conveyor lines, packaging cells, or material-handling zones where running individual sensor cables back to a central cabinet is impractical. The module accepts 4 PNP transistor inputs (sourcing) across a 16.5-30 VDC supply range, with a 6 mA minimum signal-1 threshold and 1.5 mA maximum signal-0 threshold. Each M12 socket carries dedicated pins for sensor supply (L+ on pin 1, L- on pin 3) and data inputs (pin 4 for IN1, pin 2 for IN2), so a standard 4-pin M12 cordset connects both power and signal to a proximity or photoelectric sensor.
Mounting and integration constraints
Mounts on standard DIN rail or directly to a wall using the K60 mounting plate (ordered separately — the module ships without the plate). Dimensions are 60 mm wide, 152 mm high, 29 mm deep, fitting the K60 footprint that aligns with Siemens' distributed I/O architecture. The front-facing addressing socket sets the slave ID and ID2 code (A/E default), and the yellow LEDs per channel indicate input state for commissioning. Pin 5 of each M12 socket is a ground terminal connected to the mounting plate's grounding wrist strap via a dedicated pin — this ensures the shield drain wire from the sensor cable has a low-impedance path to earth. The module has 4 I/O sockets total (sockets 5-8 are not assigned), so the physical layout supports up to 4 sensors per module.
Environmental and lifecycle profile
The module is an A/B slave type, compatible with Siemens' AS-Interface network topology. No watchdog is required, simplifying the configuration for basic input-only nodes.
