AS-Interface K20 field I/O module — 4 PNP inputs, IP67
The Siemens 3RK2200-0CQ30-0AA3 is a K20-series digital input module for AS-Interface networks, providing 4 PNP inputs in a compact IP67 field housing. It operates as an A/B slave on the AS-i bus, drawing up to 270 mA total from the AS-Interface cable for both module electronics and sensor supply. The input voltage range is 16.5 to 30 V DC, with a switching threshold of 10 V minimum for the High state. Sensor supply (L+ and L-) is routed through pins 1 and 3 of the M12 connectors, short-circuit and overload protected.
The IP67 protection class means the module withstands washdown environments and dust ingress — suitable for mounting directly on machinery or conveyor sections without an enclosure. The 20 mm width and 108 mm height allow dense packing on a mounting plate or machine frame; no separate mounting plate is required. The 4 inputs are split across two M12 sockets (standard assignment): socket 1 carries IN1 on pin 4 (D0) and IN2 on pin 2 (D1); socket 2 carries IN3 on pin 4 (D2) and IN4 on pin 2 (D3). The PNP input circuit is standard for 3-wire sensors. The A/B slave addressing uses the M12 connector, with an ID/ID2 code of A/2.
Deployment context
Mounts directly on a machine frame or panel without a separate mounting plate. The IP67 rating means it can be placed in washdown zones or outdoors (within the -25 to +70 °C operating range). The AS-Interface cable provides both power and data, so only one flat cable run is needed — no separate sensor supply wiring. The yellow LED shows I/O status; the green/red dual LED shows AS-Interface communication and diagnostics. The module supports 2- and 3-wire sensor technology.
