What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RK2207-2BQ50-0AA3 is an AS-Interface compact module K60 — an analog A/B slave (Spec. 3.0) that brings two voltage-measuring analog inputs into the AS-i network. It accepts 2/3/4-conductor sensors and is configurable for 1... 5 V or ±10 V ranges with 14-bit A/D resolution. Rated IP67, it is built for field mounting — washdown zones, wet environments, or anywhere you need to digitize a voltage signal (pressure transmitter, level sensor, potentiometer feedback) right at the machine without a separate enclosure. The module draws its operating power from the AS-Interface cable (26.5... 31.6 V) and provides a separate auxiliary sensor supply (Uaux) at 24... 30 V, capable of sourcing up to 500 mA for external sensors. Without the aux supply, the module itself consumes 46 mA max from the AS-i bus.
Mounting and connections
Mounts via standard rail or wall mounting using the K60 compact module mounting plate (3RK1901-0CA00, ordered separately). The 60 mm width, 152 mm height, and 29 mm depth fit a standard DIN-rail footprint — plan for the mounting plate in your BOM. Sensor connections are via two M12 screw-type sockets (4-conductor), one per analog input channel. The AS-Interface bus and auxiliary power connect through the module's integrated profile conductors — no separate power wiring needed for the bus side.
What the key ratings mean for fit
Two analog inputs, zero analog outputs — this is a pure measurement module, not a control output device. If your application needs analog output (e.g. driving a proportional valve), you need a different K60 variant. The configurable smoothing function lets you dampen noisy signals at the module level, saving a filter block in the PLC. The ID code 'A' and I/O configuration '7' are fixed for this slave type — the AS-i master recognizes it automatically. Operating temperature range -20... +60 °C, storage down to -40... +85 °C — suitable for unheated plant floors and seasonal storage. The red FAULT LED and green AS-Interface / AUX PWR LEDs give quick visual status without a handheld tool.
