AS-Interface I/O module for the control cabinet
The Siemens 3RK2400-1CE01-0AA2 is a SlimLine S22.5 AS-Interface slave module providing 4 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs in a single 45 mm wide housing. It is an A/B slave compliant with AS-Interface Specification 3.0, meaning it can be addressed on either channel A or B, doubling the node count on a single AS-i network. Each of the four I/O channels is configurable as either an input or an output, with the D0 through D3 terminals mapped to IN1/OUT1 through IN4/OUT4. Inputs are PNP transistor type with a switching threshold of 10 V minimum for a High signal. Outputs are solid-state, rated for a total aggregate current of 4 A across all channels, with each output capable of sourcing up to 200 mA at 40 °C ambient. The module includes built-in short-circuit protection and induction suppression on the outputs. An external auxiliary supply (AUX POWER) of 20 to 30 V DC is required to power the output circuits; this supply must comply with VDE 0106 (PELV), protection class III. The module's input voltage range is also 20 to 30 V DC, drawn from the AS-i yellow cable. Communication and status are indicated via green (AS-Interface), yellow (I/O status), and red (fault) LEDs. Addressing is set via a front-facing socket using an AS-i addressing unit.
The SlimLine S22.5 form factor (45 mm width, 106 mm height, 86 mm depth) fits standard control cabinet DIN-rail layouts. Wiring is via screw terminals accepting 1 x (0.5–4) mm² or 2 x (0.5–2.5) mm² solid/stranded, or with end sleeves 1 x (0.5–2.5) mm² or 2 x (0.5–1.5) mm². AWG equivalents are 2 x (20–14). The module supports 2- and 3-wire sensor technology.
