AS-Interface I/O module for the control cabinet
The Siemens 3RK2400-1FG00-0AA2 is an AS-Interface SlimLine S22.5 I/O module delivering 4 digital inputs and 3 solid-state outputs in a 45 mm wide housing designed for control-cabinets. The module is an A/B slave with a front addressing socket and ID/ID2 code A/0. An external auxiliary supply (AUX POWER) of 20 to 30 V DC is required for the output circuits; this supply must comply with VDE 0106 (PELV), protection class III. The input circuit uses PNP transistor technology, and the switching outputs are solid-state with built-in short-circuit and induction protection plus a watchdog. The aggregate current maximum is 4 A, with a minimum signal current of 5 mA for signal <1> and a maximum of 1.5 mA for signal <0>. Output voltage at 24 V DC is 22 to 24 V. The module operates from -25 to +70 °C and stores from -40 to +85 °C, with IP20 protection class.
Wiring and connection
Spring-loaded terminals accept 2 x (0.25 - 1.5) mm² solid or stranded wire, or 2 x (0.25 - 1) mm² with end sleeve. AWG equivalents are 2 x (24 - 16). Status indication uses yellow LEDs for I/O display, a green LED for AS-Interface communication, and a red LED for fault. The 86 mm depth and 108 mm height fit standard SlimLine S22.5 spacing on the DIN rail.
