AS-i Slimline I/O — 4DI/4DQ in 22.5 mm
The Siemens 3RK2400-2CE00-2AA2 is a Slimline SC22.5 AS-Interface compact I/O module for control-cabinet use, packing four digital inputs and four digital outputs into a 22.5 mm wide housing that snaps onto DIN rail. Inputs are PNP Type 2 per EN 61131-2; outputs are PNP transistor, rated 270 mA at 30 V maximum or 270 mA at 24 V with AS-i Power24V. Supply current splits depending on the feed: 200 mA when powered via the AS-Interface bus, or 500 mA when an external auxiliary supply (AUX POWER, 20–30 V DC PELV per IEC 60990) is connected — that extra headroom matters if you are driving the outputs and a small sensor load from the same module.
AS-Interface Slave Profile and Addressing
The slave is an A/B type compliant with AS-Interface Specification 3.0, carrying profile S-7.A.7 and ID1 code 7 (fixed, not user-changeable). Address setting is done via the front addressing socket — no DIP switches to flip inside the panel. Input and output status is indicated by yellow/red LEDs per channel.
Power Supply and Wiring
Output circuits require an external auxiliary feed (AUX POWER) of 20 to 30 V DC, rated for up to 4 A; the module can also draw supply from the AS-Interface bus at 8.5 V minimum, or from the auxiliary feed — switchable via the supply voltage selector. Connection technology supports 2- and 3-wire sensors. Solid wire sizes: 1x (0.5–2.5 mm²) or 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²); finely stranded with ferrule: 1x (0.25–2.5 mm²) or 2x (0.25–1.0 mm²). AWG solid equivalents are 1x (24–14) or 2x (24–16); stranded AWG is not permitted.
Rated IP20 — suitable for clean, dry control cabinets only; not for washdown or outdoor placement. Shock resistance is 15g / 11 ms for the module alone, or 10g / 11 ms with the device connector attached. Dimensions: 22.5 mm wide × 100 mm high × 120 mm deep — a standard single-slice footprint that fits alongside other 22.5 mm components on the DIN rail. Fastening is by screw or snap-on mounting onto the DIN rail.
The module carries no safety-related digital I/O (0 safety inputs) and no analog I/O — it is a pure discrete slice for standard AS-i networks.
