It is designed for AS-Interface bus communication, so it fits into a networked automation cell where the reversing logic and motor protection are handled over the AS-i loop rather than hardwired. Rated current is 0.63 A in AC-3 duty at 400 V, so it is sized for a small motor, roughly 0.25 kW at 400 V three-phase. Supply voltage for the control electronics is 20.4 to 26.4 V DC, drawn from the AS-Interface network or an external DC source. Enclosure rating is IP55, so it handles dust and water jets — suitable for installation in a washdown area or a non-hosed machine cabinet, but not submersion.
The unit measures 145 mm deep, 182 mm wide, and 220 mm high. The IP55 rating means it can be mounted on the machine frame, not just inside a sealed cabinet, as long as the ambient stays between -25 and +35 °C. Communication is exclusively AS-Interface — no PROFIBUS or PROFINET onboard. That is the deciding factor for BOM fit: if your line controller speaks AS-i, this starter drops in with one bus cable for both control and feedback. If your control layer is PROFINET, you need a gateway or a different SIRIUS variant.
Genuine is genuine — same part, different passport — and the AS-Interface address configuration is set via the bus master, not DIP switches on the unit.
