Motor protection and duty cycle
The AC-3 rating of 0.8 A at 400 V covers small motor loads up to about 0.4 kW; the operating frequency is limited to 80 operations per hour, so it fits intermittent-duty conveyors, pumps, and valve actuators rather than high-cycling pick-and-place stations. Short-circuit protection is handled by upstream circuit breakers, not fuses — the starter is designed to coordinate with Siemens 3RV breakers in a Type 1 or Type 2 coordination scheme.
Bus integration and I/O
AS-Interface is the only fieldbus protocol supported — no PROFINET or PROFIBUS DP onboard, so this starter belongs on an AS-i network segment, not a Profinet ring. Two digital inputs are integrated into the housing, allowing local sensor feedback (e.g., limit switches or proximity sensors) to be wired directly without an extra I/O block. Control supply is 24 V DC nominal (20.4–26.4 V range), sourced from the AS-Interface yellow cable or an external power supply.
Panel fit and environmental limits
IP54 protection means it is dust-protected and splash-resistant — suitable for control cabinets in factory-floor environments but not for direct washdown zones. Ambient operating range is -25 to +50 °C, covering most indoor industrial conditions without derating.
