Motor-starting duty and trip class
The 3RK4320-3LQ51-1BA2: Rated operating frequency is 80 operations per hour maximum, with a 50% duty cycle at low demand rate and 75% at high demand rate per SN 31920. That sets the thermal budget for the reversing contactor pair inside the enclosure.
AS-Interface integration and I/O
This motor starter communicates over AS-Interface — the AS-i protocol is supported natively, with no PROFIBUS DP or PROFINET on this variant. Two digital inputs are available on the unit for local sensors or limit switches, reducing the need for a separate I/O block at the motor. Control supply is 20.4–26.4 V DC, drawn from the AS-i yellow cable or an external 24 V DC source.
Mounting, enclosure, and panel fit
Dimensions are 205 mm deep, 245 mm wide, and 215 mm high. The unit mounts on a vertical surface with ±180° rotation possible, and can be tilted forward or backward by ±22.5° — useful when routing cables in a crowded panel. IP54 protection means the enclosure is dust-protected and splash-proof from any direction — suitable for installation inside a cabinet or in a dry, non-washdown area on the machine frame.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
Short-circuit protection is provided by upstream circuit-breakers; the starter itself includes electromechanical switching contacts with bimetal overload protection. No brake control outputs are fitted on this variant.
