Reversing starter with AS-Interface bus
It communicates over AS-Interface, not PROFIBUS or PROFINET, so it fits into a decentralized AS-i network segment controlling a reversing motor group — a conveyor reversing station or a valve actuator pair, for example.
Bus and control wiring
Two digital inputs are available for local start/stop or interlock signals. The control supply is 24 VDC nominal (20.4 to 26.4 V), so it draws from a standard 24 V panel supply. AS-Interface protocol is supported onboard, meaning no separate gateway module is needed for the reversing function — the starter is addressed directly on the AS-i yellow cable. It includes a motor brake output for 400 V AC brake control, which is useful for holding loads on a stopped conveyor or preventing back-driving on an inclined roller. No brake control for 24 V DC, 180 V DC, or 500 V DC is provided.
The enclosure is IP54, so it handles dust and splashing water typical of a machine-mounted panel near a washdown area, but not hose-down or submersion.
For BOM freeze or PCN tracking, the part carries a substance prohibitance date of 05/01/2012, confirming RoHS compliance. No official replacement or successor is listed; the design is current.
