AS-Interface motor starter — what it does in the panel
The 3RK4320-3NQ54-0BA3: Rated 10 A at 400 V AC for general use, and the same 10 A in AC-3 switching category — that's the motor-running current it handles, not just resistive load.
Power and control supply — DC bus, brake output
Control supply is 20.4 to 26.4 V DC — standard 24 V nominal, but the wide tolerance covers a sagging bus. Includes a motor brake output for 400 V AC — that's a separate contactor or relay inside the unit for holding a brake, not just the main motor switching.
Mounting and environment — panel fit, IP54
Mounts on a vertical surface with ±180° rotation possible, and can be tilted forward/backward ±22.5° — gives flexibility for cable entry orientation in a crowded cabinet. Dimensions 205 mm deep, 245 mm wide, 215 mm high. IP54 protection — sealed against dust ingress and splashing water, suitable for industrial floors near washdown areas but not submerged. Ambient range -25 to +50 °C.
I/O and fieldbus — two digital inputs, AS-Interface only
Two digital inputs onboard — can take limit switches or pushbuttons directly without an extra I/O block. Bus communication is AS-Interface only; no PROFIBUS DP or PROFINET on this variant. Short-circuit protection is built in via circuit-breakers (external upstream, but coordinated per the design). The unit itself is electromechanical switching — not a solid-state starter.
Compliance and documentation
Substance prohibitance date 05/01/2012 aligns with RoHS/REACH compliance — the unit meets EU substance restrictions as of that date. Reference code per IEC 81346-2 is Q (power switching device).
