AS-Interface integration and power
The unit communicates on AS-Interface, with no PROFIBUS DP or PROFINET. It has 2 digital inputs, control supply 20.4 to 26.4 V DC, main circuit 340 to 440 V AC, 50/60 Hz. Dimensions are 205 mm deep, 245 mm wide, and 215 mm high — a compact footprint for a combined starter and bus node.
Motor protection and braking
Motor protection is via a bimetal thermal overload relay, with short-circuit protection provided by upstream circuit breakers (the unit itself has integrated short-circuit protection, but the design specifies circuit-breakers as the external short-circuit protection device). The unit includes a motor brake output component, though it does not support brake control at 24 V DC, 180 V DC, 400 V AC, or 500 V DC — so if you need integrated brake control, this variant is not the one; you would look at a 3RK43xx with brake control enabled. The switching contact is electromechanical, not solid-state, so expect mechanical life limits. The minimum operating frequency is 80 operations per hour, which is fine for most cyclic loads but not for high-speed indexing applications.
