SIRIUS reversing starter with AS-Interface bus
It carries a 12 A rated operational current in AC-3 duty at 400 V, meaning it switches standard three-phase squirrel-cage motors up to that load current in reversing applications — conveyors, hoists, or any direction-change sequence. The built-in bimetal overload relay is set to Class 10 trip curve, so it protects motors against sustained overcurrent during start-up without nuisance tripping on normal acceleration. The unit communicates natively on AS-Interface, the bit-level fieldbus common in material handling and packaging lines. Two digital inputs are onboard for local sensors or pushbuttons, and the control supply is 24 V DC (20.4 to 26.4 V range). The reversing contactor arrangement is electromechanical, with a rated operating frequency of up to 80 operations per hour — sized for moderate cycling on a production line, not high-speed indexing.
Enclosure rating is IP54, so the starter handles dust and splashing water — typical for a panel-mounted unit on a factory floor, but not washdown zones. The unit is designed for short-circuit protection via circuit breakers (upstream coordination required), and it includes a motor brake output — useful for holding loads on vertical conveyors or gantries.
