Reversing starter with AS-Interface — what it handles
The 3RK4320-5PQ61-1BA3: The AS-Interface bus connection means it talks directly to the network without a separate gateway module, saving a DIN slot and a wiring step.
The enclosure is IP54, so it handles dust and splashing water in a washdown area or a non-conditioned cabinet — but it's not submersible. Mounting is flexible: the unit can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted ±22.5° forward or backward, which helps when you're squeezing it into a crowded panel and the cable entry needs to face a specific direction. Dimensions are 290 mm wide, 215 mm high, 205 mm deep — allow clearance for the AS-Interface bus connector and the power wiring on the top and bottom. The control supply is 24 VDC nominal (20.4 to 26.4 V range), so it runs off a standard industrial PSU without a separate transformer. It includes a motor brake output (400 V AC) — if the connected motor has an AC brake coil, this starter can switch it directly, saving an external contactor. Two digital inputs are onboard for local pushbuttons or limit switches.
