Reversing starter with local intelligence
The 3RK4353-3ER58-1BA0: The MCU-controlled on-site design gives it two digital inputs for local start/stop or interlock signals, but no fieldbus connection — this is a standalone reversing starter for simple forward/reverse control of a conveyor, pump, or fan where you don't need PROFINET or PROFIBUS.
Mounting and environment constraints
The enclosure measures 145 mm deep × 182 mm wide × 220 mm high — that's a compact footprint for a reversing starter, but the IP55 rating means it's sealed against dust jets and low-pressure water spray, so it can live on the machine frame in a washdown area or dusty mill environment.
Coil supply and short-circuit coordination
The AC coil accepts 184...253 V at 50 Hz and 196...253 V at 60 Hz — that covers standard 230 V control circuits across both line frequencies. Operating voltage for the power circuit is 340...440 V, so it's at home on 400 V nominal three-phase systems. Short-circuit protection is designed for circuit-breakers upstream — the starter itself has no integral SCCR rating listed, so coordinate the upstream breaker per Siemens' selectivity tables to keep the fault energy within the starter's withstand. The 3-pole main current circuit handles the three-phase motor load.
