Reversing starter for motor control — what the AC-3 rating means
The 3RK4353-3MR58-1BA0: This is a SIRIUS reversing starter — it combines two contactors and a bimetal overload relay in one housing, so it can reverse a three-phase motor without external interlocking wiring.
Panel fit and environmental sealing
The enclosure measures 145 mm deep, 182 mm wide, and 220 mm tall — plan the backpanel layout accordingly. IP55 means it handles dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction, so it can live on the machine frame rather than inside a sealed cabinet, but it is not rated for submersion or high-pressure washdown. Mounting is flexible: the starter can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted forward or backward by ±22.5° on a vertical mount, which helps in tight enclosures or angled machine frames.
Supply voltage and control inputs
The power supply is AC only, rated 340-440 V operating voltage. The control coil accepts 184-253 V at 50 Hz or 196-253 V at 60 Hz — a wide tolerance that covers most European and North American industrial supplies without a tap change. Two digital inputs are built in for local start/stop or reversing commands — no fieldbus module needed for basic operation. There is no PROFINET, PROFIBUS, or AS-Interface protocol support on this variant; if you need network control, look at the bus-capable versions in the SIRIUS family.
