IO-Link module K20 — four digital inputs in an IP67 slice
The 3RK5010-0BA10-0AA0 is a Siemens IO-Link module K20, a compact field-mount slice that brings four digital inputs (PNP, Y-assignment pinout) to a motor starter or sensor network without pulling wires back to a central cabinet. Each of the two M12 sockets supplies up to 200 mA to its paired sensor (pin 1 = sensor supply +, pin 3 = sensor supply -), with the input signal on pin 4 (IN1/IN3) and a second input on pin 2 (IN2/IN4). The IP67 rating means the module lives directly on the machine frame or conveyor section, not inside a panel — frontal or lateral wall mounting keeps it out of the washdown spray path while staying accessible for cable swaps.
Input timing and diagnostics you can tune per channel
Input delay is adjustable per module at 1 ms, 3 ms, 15 ms, or 20 ms — useful for debouncing a mechanical limit switch on one channel while keeping a fast proximity sensor on another at the 1 ms setting. Signal inversion is also adjustable per input, so a normally-closed safety guard switch can be read as a logic 1 without external inversion wiring. The module reports overload, short-circuit, and internal errors via IO-Link diagnostics — the green/red dual LED on the link device gives a quick visual on communication health without plugging in a laptop.
