What you actually wire this for
The 3RP1531-2AP30 from Siemens is a SIRIUS OFF-delay time relay — energized at the coil, it holds its output on for the set interval after the supply is removed, which is the function most line-down callers are replacing when a sequencing or cooling-fan dropout timer fails. It is not configured for ON-delay, pulse-delayed, pulse-shaping, additive ON-delay, or star-delta duty, so if your application calls for any of those modes this is the wrong slot in the BOM.
Timing and contact rating
Adjustable time range is 0.5…10 s with a minimum ON period of 35 ms and a recovery time of 150 ms, so the relay is sized for sub-minute sequencing rather than long compressor cool-down timers — if your process needs 60 s or 5 min, look up the wider-range SIRIUS variant rather than stretching this one.
DIN-rail fit and environmental envelope
Operating temperature is −25…+60 °C with a transport and storage envelope of −40…+85 °C; insulation is rated basic with degree of pollution 3, so it is built for an industrial control cabinet interior and not for an outdoor or washdown enclosure without additional protection.
