Function and Key Ratings
The Siemens 3RP2505-2RW30 is a SIRIUS time relay offering both ON-delay and OFF-delay functions, plus pulse-delayed and pulse-shaping modes, per the datasheet. The adjustable time range spans 0.05 s to 100 h, set via a front-panel potentiometer with a full-scale value of 1.1 and an initial value of 0.7, giving fine resolution at the low end. Rated thermal current (Ith) is 5 A, with switching capacity at 24 VDC of 1 A, at 125 VDC 0.2 A, and at 250 VDC 0.1 A. At 240 VAC the minimum switching capability is 0.5 ms. Supply voltage is 24–240 VAC (50/60 Hz) and 24–240 VDC, making it suitable for global control-voltage standards without needing a separate coil voltage variant.
Housed in a 22.5 mm wide enclosure (100 mm height, 90 mm depth) with screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail. Mounting position is any orientation. Clearance distances: 0 mm upwards, forwards, backwards, downwards, and at the side — zero clearance required, so the relay can be packed tightly in a crowded panel without derating. Connections accept solid or stranded conductors 20–12 AWG. Basic insulation type per the specification.
Operating Conditions and Lifecycle
Recovery time after a switching operation is 250 ms; minimum ON period is 35 ms. The lifecycle stage is recorded as current production. The relay is non-volatile (settings are not retained on power loss), and it does not support star-delta circuit timing.
