Integrator's note on the SIRIUS S00 contactor
This is a Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1015-1AB02-ZW98 power contactor in the compact S00 frame size — the smallest in the SIRIUS family, designed for motor loads up to 3.5 kW at 400 V AC-3 duty and 4 kW at 690 V. The 24 V 50/60 Hz coil pulls in at the standard control voltage, and the screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (0.75... 4 mm²) stranded or solid conductors. At 45 mm wide and 72 mm deep, it fits a standard DIN rail panel with side-by-side mounting permitted — no extra spacing required between units.
The AC-3 rating at 400 V (3.5 kW) is the motor-switching figure that governs real-world use — it tells you this contactor handles a 3.5 kW three-phase induction motor under full load, breaking the motor current during normal operation. The AC-4 rating at 400 V (6.5 A) covers reversing or inching duty where the contactor breaks stalled rotor current, so if your application requires frequent plugging or jogging, that 6.5 A limit is the one to watch. For resistive loads (AC-1), the operating current maxes at 10 A. The 24 V coil holds across 0.8...1.1 x rated voltage at 50 Hz and 0.85...1.1 at 60 Hz, meaning it stays pulled in down to about 19.2 V at 50 Hz and 20.4 V at 60 Hz — useful if your control supply sags under load.
Mounting and wiring details for the panel builder
The 45 mm width means three of these fit in a standard 140 mm DIN rail section. Screw terminals accept solid conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm² (2x per clamp) and AWG 20 to 12. For coordination type 2, use a gL/gG fuse rated at 20 A; for type 1, a 35 A fuse covers short-circuit protection. The contactor has no built-in auxiliary contacts (instantaneous contact count is 0), so if you need feedback or interlocking, plan for a separate auxiliary contact block that mounts on the S00 frame.
