What this part is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1015-1AP01-ZW98 is a SIRIUS power contactor in frame size S00, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It carries a rated motor power of 4 kW at 690 V AC-3 and 3.5 kW at 500 V AC-3, making it suitable for small to medium induction motors on 400 V to 690 V three-phase networks. The AC-4 rating at 6.5 A at 400 V covers reversing and plugging duty cycles where the contactor makes and breaks stalled-rotor current.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 57.5 mm height with a 72 mm depth fit standard panel layouts; side-by-side mounting is permitted with a 6 mm air gap to the side. The main current circuit uses screw-type terminals accepting 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²) solid/stranded conductors, with AWG equivalents of 2x (20–16), 2x (18–14), and 1x 12. Front protection is IP20, terminals are IP20.
Environmental and operational limits
Rated for continuous operation during -25 °C to +60 °C ambient, with a maximum operating altitude of 2 000 m. Pollution degree 3 means it tolerates conductive pollution in industrial environments. Mechanical endurance is typical 30 million switching cycles. The coil operates at 50/60 Hz with voltage tolerance of 0.8 to 1.1 at 50 Hz and 0.85 to 1.1 at 60 Hz.
