SIRIUS S00 power contactor — 3RT1015-1AP02-ZW98
Rated for 690 V at 4 kW, this contactor handles motor loads in AC-3 duty up to that power level. The AC-4 rating at 400 V is 6.5 A, covering reversing or inching applications where the contactor makes and breaks the motor at full load. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive contamination — no derating for dirty atmospheres. Mechanical life is 30 million operations. The coil operates at 50/60 Hz with a voltage tolerance of 0.8 to 1.1 times rated at 50 Hz and 0.85 to 1.1 at 60 Hz. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with a maximum altitude of 2,000 m before derating.
Panel integration and coordination
Side-by-side mounting is permitted with a 6 mm clearance at the side. Front and terminal protection is IP20 — suitable for enclosed panels but not for washdown or outdoor exposure without a separate enclosure. The S00 frame is the smallest Siemens contactor footprint, so it fits tightly on a DIN rail where space is at a premium. For short-circuit coordination, Type 1 requires a 35 A gL/gG fuse; Type 2 requires a 20 A gL/gG fuse. The difference matters for selectivity: Type 2 leaves the contactor usable after a fault, Type 1 may weld the contacts and require replacement. Wire the main circuit with the listed AWG range: 2x (20 to 16) solid or 2x (18 to 14) stranded, with a single 12 AWG maximum.
