What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1015-1AP04-3MA0 is a Size S00 power contactor rated for motor switching up to 4 kW at 690 V and 3.5 kW at 500 V. It carries a 10 A rated operational current at 24 V and handles AC-4 reversing duty at 6.5 A, 400 V — the figure that governs frequent jogging or plugging applications where contact wear accumulates faster than AC-3.
Panel fit and mounting
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. Width is 45 mm, height 57.5 mm, depth 111 mm — fits standard enclosure backpanels. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so you can gang multiple contactors without a mandatory air gap.
Termination and wiring
Main and auxiliary circuits use screw-type terminals. Accepts solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), or up to 2x (0.75–4 mm²) per terminal. AWG equivalents: 2x (20–16), 2x (18–14), or 1x 12 AWG. Pollution degree 3 rating means the contactor is suited for industrial environments with conductive contamination.
Coordination and protection
For type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit), use a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A. For type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after fault), the fuse can be 35 A. These values drive the upstream protection selection for the motor branch circuit.
