What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RT1015-1BB41-ZW97 is a SIRIUS power contactor in Size S00, built for switching motor loads in control panels. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 — screw and snap-on — so it drops into any standard panel without extra bracketry. The 45 mm width keeps the rail density tight; side-by-side mounting is allowed, so you can gang several in a row without derating. The coil is 24 VDC, pulling 3.3 W on close and holding at the same 3.3 W — steady-state dissipation is low, so heat buildup in a crowded enclosure isn't a concern. The contactor is rated for 10 A at 24 V (AC-12), 6 A at 230 V, and in AC-2 duty at 400 V it handles 3 kW. For tougher AC-4 reversing or inching, it's rated 6.5 A at 400 V. That means it's sized for small-to-medium motor loads — pumps, fans, conveyors — up to about 4 kW at 690 V.
Terminals and wiring
Main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. The solid-wire capacity is 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), and max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²) — also listed in AWG as 2x (20–16), 2x (18–14), and 1x 12. That covers most control and power wiring you'll find in a panel. The auxiliary contact block is a single NO (1 NO), which is enough for a feedback loop or a basic interlock. IP20 on the front and on the terminals — that's standard for enclosed panel gear; no washdown rating, so keep it inside the cabinet. Pollution degree 3 means it's fine for industrial environments with conductive dust or humidity.
Environmental limits
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, which covers most indoor plant floors and unheated warehouses. Maximum altitude is 2000 m — fine for most sites; if you're above that, you'll need to derate or pick a different contactor.
