The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1015-1BB42-ZX95 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, designed for switching motor loads in control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022.
Ratings and what they mean for fit
Rated for 3.5 kW at 500 V and 4 kW at 690 V in AC-3 duty — that is the motor-switching rating that governs real-world sizing for pumps, fans, and compressors. The AC-12 operating current is 10 A, covering resistive loads. For AC-4 reversing or inching duty, the contactor is rated 6.5 A at 400 V. The DC coil draws 3.3 W holding power, so the control transformer or PLC output must source that continuously. Pickup is at 85% of rated voltage (20.4 VDC) and dropout at 110% (26.4 VDC) — ensure your 24 V supply stays within that band under load.
Termination and wiring
Main circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75…4 mm²) solid/stranded. AWG equivalents: 2x (20…16), 2x (18…14), 1x 12. The front and terminal faces carry IP20 finger-safe protection, so the contactor is safe to handle in an open panel.
Coordination and environment
Type 1 coordination requires a 35 A gL/gG fuse; Type 2 requires 20 A. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive) means this contactor is rated for industrial environments where condensation or temporary conductivity is expected. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with a maximum altitude of 2,000 m.
