The Siemens 3RT1015-1BD41 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00, rated for a 42 VDC coil. It switches motor loads up to 4 kW at 690 V AC-3, or 3.5 kW at 500 V. The coil draws 3.3 W both closing and holding, so the control transformer can be sized for a continuous 3.3 W load per contactor. Mechanical life is rated at 30 million operations, which suits high-cycle applications like conveyor indexing or packaging lines.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 57.5 mm height leave room for compact panel layouts. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm spacing to adjacent devices, which keeps the gland plate fill factor manageable. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) stranded, up to 2x 4 mm² max. AWG equivalents are 2x (20 to 16) solid, 2x (18 to 14) stranded, or 1x 12. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or condensation.
Ratings and coordination
For AC-2 duty at 400 V, the contactor is rated at 3 kW; for AC-4 at 400 V, it handles 6.5 A. The auxiliary contact block includes one normally-open instantaneous contact. For type 2 coordination (no welding on short circuit), use a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A; for type 1 coordination (welding allowed), a 35 A fuse is permitted. The operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, and the maximum operating altitude is 2000 m without derating.
