SIRIUS S00 power contactor — 24 VDC coil, spring-loaded terminals
The Siemens 3RT1015-2AP01-1AA0 is a SIRIUS S00 power contactor with a 24 V DC coil, rated for AC-4 switching at 6.5 A / 400 V. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022, making it a direct fit for any standard 35 mm DIN-rail panel enclosure. The spring-loaded terminals for the main current circuit accept 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, or 2x (24 to 14 AWG). This reduces wiring time on the panel — no screw-torque check needed on the power path. Rated operating temperature range spans -25 to +60 °C during operation, with altitude up to 2 000 m without derating. The IP20 finger-safe front and terminal protection suit enclosed panel use.
AC switching ratings — what the duty classes mean
Coil draws 10 A at 24 V DC (rated value). The contactor also carries DC switching ratings: 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V. For DC loads, verify the arc-suppression method — the contactor is not inherently DC-rated for all inductive loads.
Coordination and protection
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor after a fault), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 20 A. Type 1 coordination allows a 35 A gL/gG fuse, which permits contactor replacement after a short circuit. The SCCR depends on the specific fuse and breaker combination — verify against your available fault current.
Integration — panel fit and spacing
Dimensions: 45 mm width, 60 mm height, 73 mm depth. Side-by-side mounting is permitted — no mandatory gap between adjacent contactors. The 6 mm clearance to grounded parts at the side is the minimum air gap. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution) means the contactor is rated for industrial environments where occasional condensation or temporary conductivity occurs.
