SIRIUS S00 power contactor with spring terminals
The Siemens 3RT1015-2AP02-ZW97 is a SIRIUS S00 power contactor sized for control-panel duty, with spring-loaded terminals on the main current circuit that accept 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded copper — no screwdriver needed for wiring, which speeds panel build and eliminates torque-check on terminations. Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, occupying a 45 mm wide footprint with 73 mm depth and 60 mm height — fits standard enclosure backplanes without oversizing the cabinet. Rated for continuous operation from -25 °C to +60 °C, with a maximum operating altitude of 2 000 m, and pollution degree 3 environment — suitable for unheated industrial halls and panel interiors near switching loads.
DC switching capability across the voltage range
For DC-1 resistive loads the contactor delivers 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V — the current drops sharply as voltage rises because DC arc extinction is harder at higher potentials. At 230 V DC the rating is 6 A, and at 400 V DC it is 3 A. For AC motor duty, the contactor is rated 3 kW at AC-2 at 400 V (for slip-ring motor starting) and 6.5 A at AC-4 at 400 V (for reversing or inching duty where the contactor makes and breaks stalled-rotor current). The AC-12 maximum operating current is 10 A, which covers control-circuit switching of transformer or resistive loads in the same panel.
Coordination and protection requirements
With type of coordination 2 (limited damage under short circuit) the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 20 A; with type 1 (no damage to the contactor) the fuse can be gL/gG 35 A. This matters when the contactor sits in a motor branch circuit that must coordinate with the motor starter overload relay. The contactor is rated for side-by-side mounting without derating, with a 6 mm clearance at the side — useful when packing multiple contactors on a DIN rail in a dense panel.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
The front and terminal faces carry IP20 finger-safe protection, so the contactor can be installed in a panel with the door open for commissioning without shock hazard from the terminals.
