Mounting and integration
The 3RT1015-2AV01: Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 60 mm height fit standard panel layouts; depth is 73 mm. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, so you can gang multiple contactors without extra spacing — useful for multi-motor sections in a panel. Spring-loaded terminals on both the main and auxiliary/control circuits accept 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, or 2x (24... 14) AWG. No screwdriver needed for termination — just strip and push. Pollution degree 3 rating means it's suitable for industrial environments with conductive dust or moisture.
Electrical ratings and coordination
Rated operational voltage is 400 V at 50/60 Hz. For AC-3 motor switching, the contactor delivers 3.5 kW at 500 V and 4 kW at 690 V. The AC-4 rating (reversing/inching duty) is 6.5 A at 400 V. For resistive loads (AC-1), the 24 V rated current is 10 A; at 230 V it's 6 A; at 400 V it's 3 A. The DC switching capability is limited: 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V — so don't use this for high-current DC loads. Type 2 coordination (fault withstand without damage to the contactor) requires a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A. Type 1 coordination (fault cleared but contactor may need replacement) requires a 35 A fuse. The contactor's mechanical life is 30 million operations typical — a long service life for frequent cycling applications like conveyors or packaging lines.
Environmental and compliance
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C. Front and terminal protection is IP20 — suitable for enclosed panels, not for washdown or outdoor exposure. RoHS compliance date is July 1, 2006, so it meets EU substance restrictions. The reference code per IEC 81346-2 is Q (power switching device).
