Part identity and key ratings
The Siemens 3RT1015-2BB41-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00, designed for switching motor and resistive loads in control panels. The 24 VDC coil draws 3.3 W for both closing and holding, so the same power supply budget covers both the pick and the seal-in. Rated for AC-12 duty at 10 A maximum, it handles resistive and transformer-coupled loads cleanly. For motor switching under AC-4 at 400 V, it carries 6.5 A — enough for small reversing or inching applications where the contactor sees full load break every cycle. Spring-loaded terminals accept 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, or 2x (24 to 14 AWG). The IP20 finger-safe protection on the front and terminals means it can sit exposed in a panel without additional shrouding.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm standard rail per DIN EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm spacing at the side, so you can pack several contactors in a row without derating — useful when the panel fill factor is tight. The 45 mm width and 73 mm depth keep it compact for a size S00 frame. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with a maximum altitude of 2 000 m before derating applies.
Coordination and protection
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor after a short circuit), Siemens specifies a gL/gG fuse rated at 20 A. For Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement but the circuit is cleared), the fuse can go up to 35 A. This matters when you're laying out the branch circuit protection for a motor starter combination. Pollution degree 3 rating means it's suited for industrial environments where conductive dust or occasional condensation is present — typical for most factory-floor panels.
