SIRIUS S00 power contactor, 24 VDC coil, spring-loaded terminals
The Siemens 3RT1015-2BB42-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00, designed for switching motor loads in control panels up to 4 kW at 690 V. The 24 V DC coil draws 3.3 W holding power, with a pick-up threshold of 0.85 x rated voltage and a drop-out of 0.1 x rated voltage — meaning it holds in reliably down to about 20.4 V and drops out cleanly below 2.4 V, a useful margin for brownout ride-through on a 24 VDC control bus.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm spacing to adjacent devices for heat dissipation. The spring-loaded terminals on the main current circuit accept 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors (2x 24...14 AWG), so no ferrule crimping is required for stranded wire — a time-saver during panel build. The 45 mm width and 73 mm depth fit standard S00 contactor footprints, making it a drop-in swap for earlier 3RT1015 variants without re-drilling the subpanel.
Rated operational currents and coordination
Rated for AC-12 resistive loads at 10 A maximum, and AC-2 motor duty at 3 kW / 400 V. The AC-4 switching rating (6.5 A at 400 V) covers plugging and inching applications where the contactor makes and breaks stalled-rotor current. For short-circuit protection, type 2 coordination requires a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A; type 1 coordination allows up to 35 A. The auxiliary contact ratings span 10 A at 24 V down to 0.3 A at 220 V DC, covering both PLC-level signal switching and higher-voltage interlock circuits.
