The Siemens 3RT1015-2BE42 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact S00 frame size, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The main circuit uses spring-loaded terminals for fast wiring — no screw torque needed, which saves time on repetitive builds.
Key ratings and what they mean for fit
Rated operational current is 10 A at 24 V DC, which covers typical PLC or relay-driven coil circuits. For AC motor duty, the contactor is rated 3.5 kW at 500 V and 4 kW at 690 V — that puts it in the range for small pumps, fans, or conveyors up to about 5.5 HP at 480 V. The AC-4 rating at 400 V is 6.5 A, which matters for reversing or inching applications where the contactor makes and breaks under load. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, so it handles warm enclosures without derating.
Panel integration and wiring
The 45 mm width and 73 mm depth fit standard 45 mm-wide contactor slots on DIN rail. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, with 6 mm spacing to the side for heat dissipation. Terminals accept 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, or 2x (24 to 14 AWG). Front face is IP20, so it's safe for open-panel use with no additional finger guards.
