S00 power contactor with spring-loaded terminals and varistor
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1015-2KB41-ZX95 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, rated for 10 A at AC-12. It uses spring-loaded terminals for the main circuit, accepts 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, and includes a built-in varistor surge suppressor across the coil. Depth is 73 mm, width 45 mm, height 60 mm. IP20 finger-safe protection on the front and terminals.
For motor duty, the contactor is rated 3 kW at 400 V AC-2 (starting/running), and 6.5 A at 400 V AC-4 (plugging/reversing). The 24 VDC coil draws 2.3 W closing and holding — a low, constant power draw that simplifies DC supply sizing. The varistor clamps coil voltage spikes, protecting the PLC output or relay driving it.
Side-by-side mounting is allowed with no derating for the S00 frame. The spring-loaded terminals accept 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) or 2x AWG 24 to 14 — no screw tightening, just push in. For type 2 coordination, use a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A; for type 1, 35 A. The varistor is built in, so no external suppressor is needed across the coil.
