SIRIUS 3RT1015-2WB41 — 24 VDC Coil, Size S00 Power Contactor
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1015-2WB41 is a Size S00 power contactor with a 24 V DC magnet coil, designed for screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. It carries a varistor surge suppressor built into the coil circuit — no separate suppressor module needed for basic transient protection. Main power terminals are spring-loaded, accepting 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors (2x 24–14 AWG). The contactor measures 45 mm wide by 60 mm high by 73 mm deep — fits a standard 45 mm DIN-rail slot with 6 mm side clearance for heat dissipation when mounted side-by-side.
Switching Ratings by Duty
Rated operational currents vary significantly by duty cycle and voltage. At AC-3 (squirrel-cage motors: starting, switching off running motors) the contactor delivers 5.5 kW at 400 V, 3.5 kW at 500 V, and 4 kW at 690 V. AC-4 duty (inching, plugging, reversing) at 400 V is rated 6.5 A. For resistive loads (AC-1 / AC-12) the maximum operating current is 10 A at 24 V and 6 A at 230 V. DC switching ratings: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V. The coil draws 1.4 W closing and 1.4 W holding — a DC economizer is not required since holding power equals pick-up power.
Coordination and Protection
Type 1 coordination (no damage to contactor, but may need contact replacement) requires a 35 A gL/gG fuse. Type 2 coordination (no damage to contactor or overload relay) requires a 20 A gL/gG fuse. The contactor is rated for degree of pollution 3 (industrial environments with conductive pollution). Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +60 °C, with a maximum operating altitude of 2 000 m. The enclosure and terminals carry IP20 protection — suitable for installation inside a control cabinet, not for washdown or outdoor exposure.
