The Siemens 3RT1016-1AB01-ZW96 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact Size S00 frame — 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm tall, 72 mm deep — designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in control panels. The 24 V AC coil operates at 50/60 Hz with a voltage tolerance of 0.8...1.1 x Us at 50 Hz and 0.85...1.1 x Us at 60 Hz. Rated operational current is 10 A at 24 V, with motor-switching capability of 4.5 kW at 500 V and 5.5 kW at 690 V. For AC-2 duty at 400 V it handles 4 kW; AC-4 at 400 V is rated at 8.5 A — the AC-4 figure is the one to watch for reversing or inching applications where the contactor makes and breaks stalled-rotor current.
Side-by-side mounting is allowed with a 6 mm gap at the side, which keeps heat rise under control when multiple contactors are ganged on the rail. The front face carries IP20 finger-safe protection; the terminals themselves are also rated IP20, so no additional shrouding is needed inside a closed panel. Wire range for the main contacts accepts 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75...4 mm²) solid/stranded, with AWG equivalents of 2x (20...16), 2x (18...14), and 1x 12. That covers most panel wiring up to 4 mm² without needing ferrule adapters.
