Rated for AC-4 duty at 8.5 A and 400 V, this contactor handles the severe switching conditions of plugging or inching motor loads — the high electrical stress of making and breaking locked-rotor current. For less demanding AC-2 service (starting and running slip-ring motors), it carries 4 kW at 400 V. Motor output ratings at 400 V 50 Hz reach 4.5 kW, and at 690 V 60 Hz reach 5.5 kW, covering a range of small-to-medium induction motor applications on pumps, fans, and conveyors.
Mounting and Integration — Panel Fit
Width is 45 mm, height 57.5 mm, depth 72 mm. The S00 frame fits tightly on a DIN rail; side-by-side mounting is permitted, with 6 mm spacing required to the side of adjacent devices for heat dissipation. Screw terminals accept 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75...4 mm²) — solid or stranded — and AWG equivalents 2x (20...16), 2x (18...14), 1x 12. The front and terminal faces carry IP20 finger protection. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C during operation, with altitude limited to 2 000 m. Pollution degree 3 suits industrial environments with conductive dust or moisture.
Coil and Auxiliary Contact Ratings
The contactor's coil operates at 50 Hz (0.8...1.1 x rated voltage) and 60 Hz (0.85...1.1 x rated voltage). Auxiliary contact ratings are 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V — sufficient for pilot duty in most control circuits. Mechanical life is typical 30 million operations. For short-circuit protection, Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor) requires a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A; Type 1 coordination (device may need replacement after fault) allows a 35 A fuse.
