The Siemens 3RT1016-1BP41 is a SIRIUS power contactor in frame size S00, carrying a 24 V DC coil that pulls in at 85 % of rated voltage and holds at 3.3 W DC. It switches motor loads up to 4 kW at AC-2 / 400 V and 8.5 A at AC-4 / 400 V for reversing or plugging duty. Screw-type main terminals accept 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²) stranded, with a max of 2x (0.75…4 mm²). Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 — the 45 mm width leaves room for a three-pole block in a standard panel layout.
Coordination and terminal sizing
For Type 2 coordination (no weld-stick after a fault), the evidence calls for a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A. Type 1 coordination allows a 35 A gL/gG fuse. The screw terminals are rated IP20 at the front and accept AWG 20…14 stranded, with a single 12 AWG solid permitted per clamp. Side-by-side mounting is allowed with zero spacing — the 6 mm side clearance is for air circulation, not mandatory gap.
